Sky Cinema Christmas ExperienceLeveraging Existing Technology to Delight Holiday Crowds
The Brief
Create an immersive seasonal experience that invites customers to step into Sky Cinema’s featured films.
Our Solution
To raise awareness of the new family films available from Sky Cinema at Christmas, we created two new video experiences at The O2, Greenwich and at Sky Central, Osterley. The activations had to be streamlined enough to cope with the busy holiday crowds, but still immersive enough to capture the imagination of customers of all ages. Most of all, the resulting video content needed to delight attendees and inspire them to share it with friends.
The key to our solution was using the Quander platform to create the new activations and integrating them into Quander Companion which was already in use for attendee registration at both venues. Using the Quander apps allowed us to work collaboratively with Sky Creative to test branded overlays and song choices and ultimately produce the desired experience and output.
Customers were able to enjoy a magical dinner party that placed them into the Beauty and the Beast castle along with a dancing Lumiere, everyone’s favourite singing candelabra. They also rocked out at a Guardians of the Galaxy-themed karaoke booth supplied with tracks from the Star-Lords retro cassette player for lip syncing and dancing along. The playful videos were sent straight to customers’ inboxes with easy links to share to social media.
And because Sky at the O2 and Sky Central were already leveraging Quander’s Engage, Capture, and Analyse technology, all the engagement for the seasonal experience was tracked and easily visualised through Sky’s custom Quander Dashboard.
The Results
By leveraging existing technology in new ways, we were able to easily create a fun and festive experience for the whole family at a fraction of the cost than if we’d built it all from scratch.
